On Saturday October 8th 2011 a huge heart showed up in San
Cristóbal, a part of Rimac (known as "the favella of Lima") where
over 100 volunteers painted the houses in a bright pink color.
Together they formed the shape of this heart.
This monument, an open invitation for the whole city of Lima,
can be best viewed from Parque de la Muralla.
a festive event took place while the heart was rising to celebrate
this positive signal to both Rimac and the complete city of
Lima.
"SAVE the
neighborhood of Rimac in Lima, Peru" is part of the project
"SAVE THE
WORLD" from Dutch artist TINKEBELL.
With this heart in San Cristóbal she encourages neighbors in
Rimac and inhabitants of Lima to work together for a better
neighborhood and to show the potential of this fantastic area with
the most gorgeous views.
"I showed this neighborhood the possibility of a bright future and
they made me feel I might really have
saved this part of Lima."
